Totalling +25 years of hands-on experience, Essar Gabriel is regarded as one of the top executive administrators and experts in the sports and major events industry worldwide.

Up until 2015, he occupied senior executive positions at the International Olympic Committee (Associate Director, Youth Olympic Games), World Athletics (General Secretary), and some of the most prestigious major international events such as the Summer Olympic Games (Sydney 2000 Venue General Manager, Paris 2012 COO & Deputy CEO), FIFA World Cup (France 98 Director, International Media Centre), and IAAF World Championships (Paris 2003 CEO).
In 2016, he launched egabriel, a boutique international sports and events consulting company of which he is the managing director and that provides the highest level of international sports and events management services to sports and event organizations, event owners, governments, corporate sponsors, and bidding & organizing committees in strategic planning, marketing & promotion, and major events planning.

In 2018, he joined forces with Diarmuid Crowley, former Senior EVP of IMG, to create Druid Sport Limited, a sports management & marketing company covering events, consulting, and marketing, of which he is Executive Vice-President.

In 2025, he was appointed Senior Advisor for the international business development of the SSM Group (esports, travel, events, corporate communication, and branding).
